Hi Judy, Thank you for your nice thoughts. I've done some classes in wet felting and jewelry making at the local technical college, but haven't done one on needle felting yet.
I work full time and we have our own sheep, so it's hard to find enough time for the things I love!
Your embroidery on your work is beautiful. I'd love to try more stitches to add to some of my pieces. I tend to fall back on a couple of stitches all of the time.
I'm not sure if they offer any fiber classes, but we have vacationed at Land Between the Lakes. It's a national park that starts in Kentucky and goes all the way into Tennessee. They have a settlement homestead in the park that offers many folk art classes throughout the year. If you google Land Between the Lakes, it should come up. I've always wanted to take a class there, but we never seem to go at the right time. Our son is still in school so our travel times are limited.
Actually I cann't teach, but DIY books are easy to find such as those written by Lexi Boeger, Jacey Boggs + DVD and the new one by Ashley Martineau. Many good videos on YouTube will help you to begin with a drop spindle.I only use a drop spindle, some cheap home made ones, for years. I have adapted the wheel lessons to the drop spindle. Be slow to get the practise, you'll be fast to do.
Hi Judy, Thanks for all your lovely comments, I hope you will join us. I do not have a badge but do place a link on your site by all means and also if you become a member you can link your site to the blog. Look forward to seeing you Tricia x
Hi Judy, I will send you an invitation to join, you do not have to take part unless you want to, but you can always drop by to leave comments even if you do not want to get involved. The forum is basically where we hope to discuss the challenges and because it is on a communal blog everyone will put their own work on there and discribe the way they do it. So there will be lots to learn. I have just added my work in progress so do pop by and take a look. It will be good to have you come join us again. Best Wishes Tricia x
Hello Maggie, It has been very rainy and coolish here too. But we've had lots of really nice sunny days too. I have spent about 80% of my free time gardening this year and my gardens look wonderful but sadly little to no stitching and I am sooo missing it. Hugs Judy
How's your summer going?....
It is going by too quickly and gosh all the rain is not fun!.
I have had no studio time, I got behind in my housework when I had the flu recently so now I am playing catch=up!! Not fun. I want to sew!!!!!
