Felt Glovemaking Workshop at North Yorkshire near Scarborough

We will make a beautiful pair of fingerless gloves suitable for colder days. There will be buttons, beads and threads available to add extra detail to your pair of gloves. You will take home a finished pair of fingerless gloves. We will also cover how to make a matching frilly neck wrap. £28

Saturday 29th August 2009 ( 4 places ) Handbag in a Day.Create a felt handbag using the resist method. We will cover laying out the wool, applying decoration to the surface and making a handle. The resist method is the basis for making many felt items and is a useful technique to experience.Full day 10.30 to 4pm£35 includes all materials and equipment needed during the workshop.See More

- I am a Felt maker and Textile Artist and have a love of fibres. I work mainly with felt but not exclusively. I enjoy dyeing fibres and experimenting with colour, particularly muted subtle shades.
I run regular feltmaking workshops locally and visit other groups to provide workshops.

Don't I wish there were groups in Whitby!? I feel like a voice crying in the wilderness here - I've tried and tried to look into any sewing groups around and toyed with the idea f starting one. There's Raw fibres felting who do or did the occasional workshop at Robin Hoods Bay. Seems like either a creative void or closed groups who don't want any "fresh blood". Don't mean to sound negative - what a lovely and artistically inspiring area we live in!
