About Me:
Although painting is my first love, assemblage and art dolls has become an essential spiritual practice. I love the process of sculpting with polymer clay and working with textiles, yarn, fibers and beading, creating a context where magic begins.

I've been inspired by many cultures where dolls were made symbolic of the sacred...full of meaning and creativity, here there is an element of reverence and solitude that guides me gently into that type of art.

It is a form of meditation...a beautiful Spirit dance.

Some have called my work metaphysical surrealism, I just know that Spirit moves me to find inspiration in nature, myth and life itself. My only hope is that people may find in my art a sense of peace.

WINGS OF CREATIVITY

Good afternoon everyone, I am looking forward to sharing with you the process of creating my little art dolls, even tho I have other blogs, this is a unique experience, to have a shop with a blog.

I have been working on making wings which is a long process because it takes quite a bit of wire work paint and patience. I've used wooden clothes pins to support the body of the doll and shaped the wings with wire and cheese cloth, it takes several coats of acrylic to make them strong.

I want to thank my returning clients who encourage me to create even further than my imagination can reach. There are times when I get a tad discouraged and wonder what am I doing making dolls when I should be painting, which is my original love, but the more I make my little dolls, the more I understand that life is about creativity, one thing does not conflict with the other and if there is a balance, my spirit truly finds a way to soar.

I welcome your comments, thanks for visiting my new store.

The little Spirit Dolls you see in here will be available at my store tonight!

Nest of endless light

"What I think is that if we're still around after we die, it will be more like those moments when we let go, than the way we are most of the time. It'll be--it'll be the self  beyond the self we know"

Let the light in...

During this time of conflic, polarized

opinions and scary news, we need to remember how

much light we can bring to others even when the

situation is not perfect, it takes just one kind

word to let the light in...a smile or a hug.

Ring the bells that still can ring.

Forget your perfect offering.

There is a crack in everything.

That's how the light gets in.

Making art for the sake of soul survival

Posted on October 16, 2008 at 6:36pm 0 Comments

WHAT WE NEED IS IN OURSELVES-IT’S THERE-WE
JUST NEED TO LISTEN HARD AND FIND IT-IT TAKES TIME
BUT IT’S THERE...

There’s this really hard work ethic I have
But it’s also a joy for me to make things
It is survival for me

~ Quote from Danny Mansmith ~

This man is one of the most creative folks I have encountered...talk about transformation...scrap becomes a work of art in his hands.

Can't imagine coming up with so many different ideas for your dolls. They are different from anything I have seen before. Very interesting.

Griselda - I'm letting the light in! Just love Leonard Cohen and the Persian Mystic Rumi.
Your dolls are an image of you and your inner creativity. Just amazing! Your paintings that I have seen are truely symbolic and equally amazing!

As soon as I saw your work I knew I had seen it before over at Creative Souls.
I am in awe of your dolls as well as your paintings. Really love the little spirit pieces near the top. They look like little faces peeking out from pods and seashells. Just lovely work: : )
