New Addiction Alert...UTEE !!!!!!!!

Posted on February 28, 2008 at 2:06am 5 Comments

WOW!!! I have discovered the most incredibly fascinating material I've seen in a long time. UTEE ( Ultra thick embossing enamel ) Is a product by Ranger ink company. Suze weinberg is the supposed "inventor' of it. It's a plastic powder that looks like sugar in the jar and melts at 340 degrees F. You can use the melting Pot appliance sold with it or your regular heat gun. So far I've made about 25 faux dichroic "jewels" with it. I poured the melted… Continue

Christmas shopping on the wild side!!! IKEA

Posted on December 22, 2007 at 1:54am 1 Comment

I just thought I was finished ....and I REFUSE to do the mall! And walmart is a great place to avoid!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I had an eye-opening experience.....I went to IKEA for the first time. I had to keep shutting my mouth , as it kept hanging wide open along with my astonished eyes. I bought a solid pine kitchen table & 4 chairs for $119.00 The place is huge, to say the least....and the stuff is very reasonable to the point of…
Metallic acrylic stamped on suede
Posted on November 28, 2007 at 11:26pm 2 Comments
This is a scan of my latest project.
I used metallic acrylic paints on green garment suede. The design is a lino-block I made. To enhance the colors , I used Metallic prismacolor pencil. I intend to make a purse from this piece.
Musings on multiple creativity
I'm glad I ran across this site the other day!
Although I am primarily a bead artist and purse maker; I want to try it ALL. I learned to sew at age 13 and it opened a new window to the world for me. I realized that I could have the exact clothes I wanted. Also I realized that I didn't need to pester my folks for new clothes. In the early 1960's all the girls at school were wearing the same thing as everyone else...maybe in a different color. I never appreciated the freedom to be me…
You know I am in the same delima! I love to buy goodies and then kind of get overwhelmed, because I want to do everything! I finally just am going with my muse and do whatever I feel lead to do at the time. I have been making some magazine bowls, dolls, fabric cards(for christmas), just kind of all over the place. It seems to work for me :)
