About me and my connection to fiber art & mixed media
I am the mother of two grown children and the grandmother of twin girls. My love is working with fabric, dolls, embroidery of any kind. For the last while I have been experimenting with Mixed Media and Journaling. I am a member of the Oakville Stitchery Guild.
Hey Diane - Did you ever make progress on transferring to metal? I know you were busy the last time we spoke - and I'm just wondering if you wound up giving up, or you had time to try. I'd love to know. Hope all is well! xx
Almost! I'm in Ajax. I see you're a member of Oakville stitchery, so we would know Donna Funnell and Janet Rhind in common. I'm not currently a member of any guilds, but I belong to a local doll club that meets in Pickering.
I totally understand waiting - and it may not even be what you need. I love working with metal - and I've used different things to transfer to metal - but as far as printing on it, I haven't had much luck. The look of ExtravOrganza (with image printed on it) and then stuck down to metal looks cool - but it all depends on the look you want. I just like the Lazertran because it's easy and sticks to everything! It's also really easy to sew through. I'd love to see what you're working on when it's finished. :)
