Hi again 'Chya'!! I shd. say...Ann!! Goooooood grief, but I am a dunce, aren't I?! If I'd just looked further, I'd have seen that you're an Ann not a Chya!! Still, I must say that I really quite like Chya as a "nomme d'art", as it were!! I'm...thrilled that you've visisted Van. Is. and the Lower Mainland (Vancouver)!! Van. Is. IS gloooooooorious, isn't it!! Still, the Lower Mainland, big bldgs., too many houses/roads/shopping malls has its special loveliness, too. I'm an Easterner (TO and Ottawa), but in the last decade or so, I've come to looooove this part of Canada, too. There's something about places where the mountains meet the sea!! I'm soooooo curious - are you a Canuck living in the UK or a Brit who lived in Can., once upon a time - ie. Kingston - a little g-e-m of a city!! I do hope you really will come back to B.C. and - p'raps?? - take on the challenge of the "Grouse Grind"!! It is not for the 'faint of heart'!! We actually...live on Grouse Mtn. - on its lower slopes - such a beautiufl, beeeeeeeeautiful spot festooned, as it is, with 200+ and 300+ and, and, and (!!) year old trees - such ancient and majestic giants!! If only they could...talk!! There's also plenty of wildlife - ie. we've had bears, racoons, fox, coyotes, bunnies, etc.,etc. galore in our yard plus, on one occ., a...bobcat!!

Oh yeah - and, of course I've heard of David Emerson!! How delightful that you got to stay with them whilst you were here!! Cheers! Charlotte

Hi Anne
Love your recent silk and felt paintings. Especially the Echinacia. The mix of colours and textures is wonderful. All twenty photos of your work are beautiful.

Hi...shd. I call you Chya? Such a beautiful name! Many thanks for your comment on "Halfway Up the Grouse Grind" - means a lot to me! The Grouse Grind is a really quite demanding trail that runs up Vancouver's Grouse Mountain - even on the brightest day, once on the trail, it becomes very, very d-a-r-k and wonderfully primeval!

I've just had myself a super time wandering through your gallery - such splendid works!! I am partic. enchanted with "Looking In, Looking Out" and with...I'm not going to be able to spell it, am I!! Your work depicting a street in Beijing.

Cheers! Charlotte
