Open Studios for the Bower birds

Bower birds are AMAZING! The male intentionally arranges a group of objects in a "pleasing way" The female visits bowers and chooses mate on basis of which "art" she likes best. Blue is often a color of choice. This piece in all measures approx. 14" by 22". Background is painted and stamped canvas. Surround is embellished felt and lutradur. Branches are embellished felt and natural branches gathered from my yard after a wind storm.

i've just discovered u today, and immediately clicked on the 'stalker' sorry, 'follow' button, so i won't miss any of yr next FAB pieces.

this one is a great and charming piece. i DID hear of these birds' mating ritual before - but never before saw it captured in human art like this! excellent concept! :-)

loved all yr neck pieces, too.

Ohhhhhhhhh, Mimu, Mimu, Miiiiiimu!! Isn't this a joy, joy, J-O-Y!! The colours, the birds, the 'found art', your choice of branches/twigs, etc.,etc. - it alllllll works together soooo, sooooo beeeeeeeautifully!! As for the Bower Birds - UNinformed moi!! - I have never heard of them before!! Many, many thanks for introducing them AND for sharing this goooooooorgeous work!! Hugs, Charlotte
