When I find some of the other unusual pieces, I will share them too.  Most of the studio is packed.  I can always create more.  I love working on black.  This is with a white gel pen.  The silver doesn't work so good.  Even if you like paper mostly, add some color before you begin.  Use colored paper, or color your own papers.

What are you doodling on?  Paper?  Just paper?  How about something new?  Absorbent Ground by Golden goes over gesso and allows you to watercolor and draw on surfaces you could not otherwise.  Wanna see?

While challenges do not exist here, I would like to challenge you to take your favorite playing card and create a new one with zentangles.  I am thinking of each of the aces, and all of the eights.  For this challenge though, it will have to be a fish for Go Fish, lol.

Come on.       I dare ya'.

Robin!  Your work is wonderful!!!!!  No more second guessing yourself.  Just add a few new marks, let's say 2, to each new piece.  Steal, like it's really stealing, some of the doodles I have come up with.  As far as I know, sharing patterns to put into your own designs is perfectly acceptable.  It is only the taking of the whole design where trouble begins, but you know that.  Go girl!  You are doing great.

Thank you for the tips.  I've done a few zentangles, but just don't feel very "artistic" when it comes to them.  I tend to use the same ones over and over.  and never feel as if I'm doing it "right", but i guess there's no right or wrong...........

I put a link to my flickr if anyone wants to take a peak at some that I've done.  I have 2 whole notebooks full but just haven't gotten around to picture taking.

Robin, try this.  Draw a curvy line, straight or in a curve.  Go back and add a solid dot.  Now go back and add circles.  How big?  Any size you want.  Add a straight line.  Add a triangle.  It goes on and on this way.  It looks better and better as you go, because you are building up the complexity.  Hope that helps.  Ask for more any time.

Robin, it begins with a doodle across a piece of paper/fabric/egg/etc.  When you are ready, start another doodle going another direction.  It seems to work out that when you finish one design, another pops up to try.  So you try it in another direction.  Eventually you are filling in the gaps with spirals, and one of a kind motifs.  Remember all the designs are already out there.  Look at packaging labels, architecture/interior design (especially carpeting), and all of the zentangles you see.  Borrowing a doodle is highly exceptable.  You may easily find a variation of 'that' doodle among gray cells.  Don't worry.  It is not about the end.  It's about the beginning.  From there, they just lead you along, until the end.  Don't be surprised with left over doodles.  Just grab something else to put them on.
