Comment by Rhonda Rogalski on April 23, 2013 at 9:58am This is such a fun way to create - I just love it. We are the perfect pair since Nancy is so fabulous with the details and embellishments - which is not something I enjoy doing. I'm so excited to try different lighting and display ideas and see how this beauty wants to show itself off.
Comment by carole gascoigne on April 23, 2013 at 4:08am Superb, what a fabulous idea, I love it on so many levels, the joint working, the beautiful detail, and as my picture was slow to load, I was expecting to see a bag, then you mentioned lights..... and the picture came up.... well done to you both :-)
Comment by Nancy skakel on April 22, 2013 at 4:33pm Here is our first collaborative effort. Rhonda made a wet felted white and dark grey hollow open-ended bag with simple tree shapes, a large moon shape in one corner, and striated moonbeams. She sent this to me, and I embellished it with branches and details on the trees, including "tree spirit" faces. I then cut slits in the moonbeams, surrounding each slit with either yellow or pale blue. I have mailed the piece back to Rhonda for her to decide how it should be displayed. I tried clear small Christmas lights poking thru the slits, but did not really like that effect. I am now thinking some sort of interior lighting - maybe a battery powered LCD? - so the light can softly shine thru the slits.

Comment by Mimu Rubin on April 12, 2013 at 7:39pm My felting is done with two Baby Lock embellishing (felting machines). I love the process of mashing and blending yarns, ribbons, felt, wool to create jewelry and
fiber art pieces.
Comment by carole gascoigne on April 2, 2013 at 3:01pm I really like felt work hung from natural branches, sea bleached ones are the best but others work just as well, that would be my preference, and especially as your work is a tree :-)
Comment by Nancy skakel on April 2, 2013 at 1:19pm I had a calendar picture to guide me, but I free-handed the felt image. Doesn't really show, but the trunk and limbs are in low bas relief. Now, what does one do with such a thing? It is about 14" x 14". I don't really want to put it behind glass in a frame. Any suggestions about displaying such wall hangings?

Comment by Marie-Christine GOSSE on April 2, 2013 at 3:51am So many pieces of Art done recently by Alena L, Nancy S and carole G !!!
Wow!
As my cat jump through my embroidery net, I have had to change my design to fit with the short piece begun.
Using multi techniques as wooly bobbin lace, wet felt, free form crochet, cro-tatting and beads embellishments, here is my Totem Bonzoeil :
Comment by carole gascoigne on April 2, 2013 at 2:08am Alena I have just noticed your sea picture, it's lovely - I have just been part of a sea inspired challenge, instead of felting I made a collage out of fabric, handmade paper and shells - it was called 'How sweetly the waves call' - a Siren trying to return to the ocean. I love your felted piece can I share it? Carole
