There does seem to be a lively group on "Working On Now" on Fiber Arts/Mixed Media on the main site. Perhaps that is more useful. I have always found the Facebook site for OCA quite lively, though it does focus a lot on the UK scene. If you find any other European wide sites Edith I hope you let me know. Please keep in touch. I will follow your blog to see how you are progressing.

You are very welcome. I doubt if anything much will happen here! Are you on OCA textiles on Facebook or on the Forum discussion? Both good places to look, however, I am still not sure of FB format suits me

Thank you Edith for your notes on presenting your work, that will come in very useful.

Welcome Sissel and Penny.

Hope together we can get this forum more lively and interesting.

Maybe we could upload some of our favourite pieces to share?

Hi just joined the group. I live in Scotland, UK and am studying for a HND in art and design.  I love working with textiles and have enjoyed incorporating them into a jewellery piece. I'm inspired by all the amazing work everyone is doing. Thanks for sharing.  Its great to have found such a group :-)

Hej Sissel

Nice to hear from you

Hello,

I just became a member of FAMM, and found this group where I feel I belong because I live in Oslo, Norway. A couple of years ago I began to study Creative Machine Knitting, and I now continue exploring this new world of mine …

Hi

I used A1 foamboard and listening to my hubby divided8 who has sent in many projects during his engineering career) each one in two or three clear areas, fixing everything and the text boxes in an other colour precisely placed within each( not marked) area. At the bottom righthand I had fixed a box with the course, student number, page number and assignment number..made on Word with letters large enough so everything can be read at a distance Remember to allign everything with the edges. If one sends in poor work, sloppily presented then the marks are going to be low. The hubby built a box that was broken before it got to Copenhagen a car ride of 45 minutes!! anyway it got over the water. I wonder if it will get back. Look at my blog under formal assessment I published photos of it all after assessment. I am off to Santa Barbara ( we are in California at the moment staying with our son for a couple of months) taking the train for the first time in USA ! Coming back late tomorrow night so you will not get an answer if you have any more questions Have a fun Xmas!!

Hi Edith, yes,I will go for formal assessment. It is beginning to daunt me tho because i dont know how to best present my work and for it arrive looking like I want it to. Do you get to do formal assessment after each module?

You got good marks for your work, was that for Creative Approach? Some people have been getting quite low marks and I am constantly thinking how can i up my game?

Hi Just joined the group. I live in Spain and am also a mature student at The Open College of the Arts doing a BA in Textiles. I am coming to the end of my first year and am enjoying working with a whole range of fibre media. My blog I keep for the course work is http://minaret.blogspot.com.es/ and my blog for other projects is http://artofsquirell.blogspot.com.es/. Am really liking working with wire, string and beads at the moment.
