I dye a little more everyday.....and am working on special orders, preparing for the festival season, taking pictures of garments for my shop at Artfire and thinking about updating and reworking my website.

Hi from Florida, where I am reorganizing my dyeing area. There are so many different kinds of dyeing! A class at John C. Campbell has inspired me to dye some yarns for weaving. The class was taught by Kathrin Weber from Asheville. She is a wonderful teacher and weaver! Oh my!  her website is http://blazingshuttles.com/

I put some photos on my own website here:

For Valentine's Day I got myself a wonderful range element so I can boil the dyed yarn at the end. Using ProChem Fiber Reactive Dyes, space dyeing warps or skeins.

It doesn't look like too many are posting anymore.  I'll check back in a month or so.

Hello all,

Looking forward to seeing what everyone is doing in the dyeing universe.  I usually dye with procion dyes and love the results.  I use the fabric in fiber art quilts.

I also do some rust dyeing and plan to do more as soon as the sun will come out again.  All we have had here in New England is rain, rain and more rain!  At least I'm thankful we haven't had flooding.  Bye for now.  Diane aka DSigns by DS

Hi - I have only dabbled in dyeing but have done a TON of fabric painting. Want to learn more! Tried doing some fancy work this summer and had troubles getting the fabric to accept all of the dye .... marbelling is not for the faint of heart! However, I am sure this group is what I need for inspiration!

enjoying dyeing at the moment..this time I made up a huge tub of soda and salt solution then dipped the fabric in..it was a lot quicker than measuring everything out..have decanted this into old plastic bottles. I had a go with some chinese red and yellow procion dyes..love the pattern

Janine I love the photos..excellent piece of inspiration.
I have read that you are supposed to use syntrhapol to get rid of any dye residue...I just washed it in my ordinary detergent is that ok..what do you think?
