Welcome!

Creative art journaling has been a very healing experience for me and I know it is helping others. In this group, I'd like to explore this idea with others who have discovered this and with those who are curious. Please feel free to add pics and tips, but especially any stories of how this is helping, inspiring or healing for you.

Thank you...and welcome!

That's really beautiful, Jane!  I would love to know more about what you did.  I've added a special discussion for techniques.  Will you go there and tell us all about it? :)

Thanks, Linda!  It's nice to know someone is still watching this group!  I'm glad you enjoyed my pics, too.  I guess I could have painted those flowers, but it was fun to just play with all the materials and see where they wanted to go.  The napkins are always a little transparent, especially the lighter parts.  I love how the torn edges blend in, so well. You can hardly see them.  Thanks, so much for your nice comments!  :)

I just too a look at the flickr site.  Thanks for sharing your work in progress.  It's really interesting and makes me want to get the paints out.  I love your use of the paper napkins as a jumping off point.  Once you added the blue dots those flowers just popped!

Just wanted to pop in and say hello.  I'm still here, and available, just fyi.  I know we all understand crazy lives and making it back to the computer.  I want to post more pictures, but I'm on the wrong computer, right now so I'll leave this link:

That's to a set on my flickr site which shoes the evolution of two spreads, using the same materials in the same order, but in different ways.  It was a fun experiment and might make an interesting prompt.  :)

I was a longtime journal writer, but keeping an art journal for two years now has reawakened my soul. It helped me climb out of a very dark place, and continues to provide me a place to dream and grow. My profile pic is from a journal I'm working on with the book The Creative Entrepeneur. Wonderful book! Also, for anyone interested, artist Misty Mawn is having her January Journal event on her blog. See it here.
How wonderful to have found this group!
